I too decided to write an orderly account for you, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

more-than-gold

The Vision

Share the story of Jesus with thousands of people across Scotland.

The Opportunity

The 2014 Commonwealth Games present a unique opportunity for Scotland’s churches to do something simple but significant in their community.

The Penny Gospel

A special edition of Luke’s Gospel with inspiring stories of sporting men and women who believe their faith is worth More Than Gold. It’s priced at 1p allowing churches to order multiple copies and give thousands of them away during the Commonwealth Games year.

Although the cost to churches (in Scotland) is 1p, the actual cost of producing these is 20p. SBS is therefore accepting donations to cover all the costs.

The Penny Gospel is a tool to help Christians share their faith, pass on the Word of God to others and has the potential to change many people’s lives. Priced at only a penny, it’s worth so much more to those who read it.

The Penny Gospel is published by the Scottish Bible Society and Biblica

Latest News

Penny Gospel distribution is now underway with over 400 churches, organisations and individuals taking part. Over 750,000 copies were printed and nearly all of these have been ordered. We’re hearing some great stories about those giving out copies as well as those who have received their copy. Give thanks for those who have been distributing the Penny Gospel. May there be rich fruitfulness in their community.

An ideal follow-up to a Penny Gospel distribution is the Community Bible Experience (CBE). You can find out more and get CBE resources here or email Fiona McDonald for more information.
