In 1994, over a period of 100 days, an estimated 1 million men, women and children were slaughtered during the Rwandan genocide. In one of the darkest moments in human history, more than 6 people were murdered every minute of every hour of every day. The effects of the genocide are still being felt to this day.

In October 2014, 20 years on from the genocide, a team from the Scottish Bible Society visited Rwanda to find out how the country has managed to re-build following the genocide and how the Bible Society in Rwanda is trying to ensure that the Word of God is placed at the very heart of the nation.

The visit to Rwanda has deeply moved me and will be an experience I will never forget. I would be delighted to have the opportunity to tell you more about the transformative work of the Bible Society in Rwanda.
Norman Liddle, Community Partnership Manager
