Can you imagine doing Bible mission in a country ravaged by war with destruction and danger all around you?

Nabil helping to distribute Bibles and aid in Iraq

A place where Christians have been persecuted, the government is unstable, violence is commonplace and poverty is widespread?

This is the everyday reality for Nabil Omiesh and his team from the Bible Society in Iraq.

Nabil and his team have seen the horrors of a war-torn country, and yet they still work hard with “joy and peace” in their hearts.

Refugees who fled ISIS in Iraq to neighbouring countries are slowly returning to find their homes destroyed and their communities broken.

For our brothers and sisters in Christ living in Iraq, it is still very dangerous, but God’s Word is still at work in this place.

Many refugees returning to their home bring back with them the physical and emotional wounds which go hand-in-hand with a conflict like this.

That is why the Bible Society in Iraq have introduced a Bible-based trauma healing programme.

This programme helps them to find the healing and hope in God’s Word as they work through their experiences and discover God’s love for them.

Nabil Omiesh will be sharing about this and the rest of his work in the Middle East when he visits Scotland in a few weeks time.

Please join us at one of our events with Nabil, and hear about how God is at work in the Middle East.

Come and hear how God’s Word is rebuilding broken lives in Iraq.
