There is a huge demand for Bibles in China. The majority of Christians in mainland China live in rural areas. Most of them earn less than $2 per day and because of this, they are unable to afford the cost of a Bible.
Since 1987, however, 80 million Bibles have been printed and distributed in China. The United Bible Societies’ China Partnership reaches out to an estimated 40 million Christians with either heavily subsidized or free Bibles.
