The Bible plays a big part in every school in the Dominican Republic – it’s an essential part of the school curriculum. However, schools do not provide the children with Bibles, families are expected to do this. Because the level of poverty in the country is so high this is impossible for most families.

The Bible Society in the Dominican Republic is working to put a Bible in the school bag of every child. Their goal over this year is to provide at least 7,000 children with a Bible they can use at school.
