Bible 2020 Communications Assistant

Based at Scottish Bible Society, Edinburgh.

Are you creative, passionate about the Bible and excited to play a part in delivering a global project with the potential to change lives and transform communities? We have a new opportunity in our Bible 2020 team for someone who enjoys working across a range of communication media, including print, digital and social media platforms.

Bible 2020 is for Everyone Everywhere, uniting the global church to read aloud God’s word daily for a year. It involves an innovative smartphone App, a global video wall, a series of Scottish events and new resource materials being produced by the Scottish Bible Society.

To help deliver Bible 2020 we are seeking the right person to make a positive contribution across the communications aspects of the project. You will have experience of writing engaging copy for print and digital media, developing and managing content for digital channels, including: website, emails, social media, and potentially some behind the scenes experience in event management. You need to be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, have great attention to detail, and an ability to work closely with colleagues across departments.

Faith requirement – this role requires an understanding of the different Christian communities in Scotland in order to apply this to writing and editing copy appropriate to our key Bible 2020 audiences.

• This is an office-based role at our office in Edinburgh city centre.
• Part time 20 hours per week, working pattern negotiable, 18 month contract.
• Salary available on application and dependant on experience.
• Closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 27th May.
• Interviews will take place week commencing 3rd June 2019.
